Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

HailCore LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the HailCore mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use HailCore.

Information We Collect

Location Data. HailCore requests access to your device's precise GPS location. This is used solely to determine your proximity to detected hail-producing radar cells and to deliver proximity-based push notifications. Location data is processed on-device and on our servers only to calculate storm distances and trigger alerts. We do not store your location history.

Purchase Information. If you subscribe to HailCore Premium, purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive only anonymized transaction receipts via RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. We never see or store your payment details.

Device Tokens. We collect your device's push notification token to deliver hail alerts. This token is stored on our servers and is not linked to any personal identity.

Information We Do Not Collect

HailCore does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifying information. We do not use advertising SDKs, or sell any data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

NOAA/NEXRAD. Radar data is sourced from NOAA's public NEXRAD network. No personal data is transmitted to NOAA.

Mapbox. HailCore uses Mapbox for map rendering. Mapbox may collect anonymous usage data per their privacy policy at mapbox.com/legal/privacy.

RevenueCat. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple Push Notification Service (APNs). Push notifications are delivered via Apple's APNs infrastructure.

WeatherKit / NWS. Forecast data is sourced from Apple WeatherKit and the National Weather Service public API. No personal data is transmitted.

Sentry. HailCore uses Sentry for crash and error reporting so we can diagnose and fix problems. This may include an anonymous session replay of on-screen activity at the time of a crash, with all text, images, and webviews masked. Sentry does not receive your name, email address, or location. Their privacy policy is available at sentry.io/privacy.

How We Use Your Information

We use location data and your push notification token exclusively to detect nearby hail-producing storm cells and alert you when one enters your configured alert radius. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond core app functionality.

Data Retention

Push notification tokens are retained while you have the app installed. If you delete the app, your token is no longer used. We do not retain location data beyond the immediate processing needed to calculate storm distances.

Children's Privacy

HailCore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at contact@hailcore.app.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of their data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. HailCore does not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@hailcore.app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
